I qualified form Bristol University in 1980. I have been a Practice Principal for Abington Dental Practice for 26 years and the Practice has flourished over that period.
I enjoy all aspects of Dentistry but in particular the restorative aspect and cosmetic dentistry. We are now able to offer Dental Implants to our patients in house. Having been a VDP Trainer for 10 years, this has helped me with the teaching skills required for Newly qualified Dentists.
I have been working in Northampton since 1982. I have spent a lot of time over the years developing new skills and attending courses nationally and Internationally. We have now created a multi disciplined centre to provide patients with the best possible care.
I enjoy skiing and snooker as well as keeping fit in the spare time.

Sunil Parmar BDS - Dental Surgeon
I joined Abington Dental Practice in August 2007 as a Vocational Trainee for a year, after which I progressed to becoming a permanent Associate Dental Surgeon here at the practice.
During High School, I studied the GCSE subjects of Mathematics, English Language
& Literature, Science, Systems and Control, History, Business Studies, Information Technology and French. At the age of 13 I also gained a GCSE in Gujarati. Altogether I hold 11 GCSEs for which I was graded with an A*, five A’s and one B. During my sixth form, I studied Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level for which I gained 4 A’s. I then attended Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ University (GKT) in London where I studied Dentistry. I graduated with my Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in July 2007.
Before entering University, I acquired work experience at both a dental practice and an orthodontic clinic in London. Here, I was able to overlook several disciplines of both fields with hands-on experience. It was during this time that I found myself further interested in entering the profession.
During my time at University, I gained significant training in patient care within various Dentistry disciplines. I treated patients in clinics at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital on a regular basis. This practical training was very valuable in preparing me for general practice.
I also gained work experience at a placement visit at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup, where I overlooked consultants in all fields of medicine. In August 2006, I traveled to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for a placement, where I was fortunate enough to see dentistry carried out at a community clinic around the outskirts of the Favellas, the impoverished district of Rio de Janeiro.
My reason for choosing Dentistry was that I enjoy interacting with people and have always been interested in providing a health service. Along with that, I enjoyed the artistic and architectural nature of dentistry, which in combination made it an ideal profession for me to follow. I was also fortunate to be able to seek advice from a number of successful dentists within my family, which further encouraged me to join the profession.
I enjoy undertaking all aspects of dentistry and continually thrive to improve my skills by regularly attending postgraduate courses. I feel this is a good way of keeping up-to-date with a profession which is continually striving forwards. My next target is to gain a qualification on tooth implants, as I feel that this will play an integral role in the replacement of teeth in the future.
I am a keen sports enthusiast, and in my spare time, I play football, badminton, squash and table tennis, as well as regularly attending my local gym. My other interests include traveling, dining out at restaurants, and reading.
I am a registered member with the General Dental Council (GDC) and the Dental Protection Society.

Dr Vanita Khoosal BDS

In my spare time I like to keep fit and I enjoy baking. I also like spending time with my friends and family.

My post also involved Invidulating at the National Examination for Dental Nurses.
I became a member of the British Association of Dental Nurses in 1974 and have remained so to this day.
I left Dentistry in 1984 to have my family and during that period I attended college to gain qualifications in Art,3D Design, Photography and Graphic Design. I still photograph and paint for my own pleasure and to also comply a portfolio. My other interests include, Reading, Walking, Travel and Gardening.
My return to Dentistry has been an interesting one as now computers have replaced pen and paper, materials are in tubes and there is always so much to learn, which explains why I still love my job.
